Children enter the Reception Class aged between four and five. Admission is without reference to ability or aptitude and is on the basis of equal opportunities.

Windlesham Village Infant School is part of The Alliance Multi-Academy Trust (TAMAT) and is an 'own admission authority' school. However, we remain part of the central admissions system operated by Surrey County Council.

Windlesham Village Infant School has a Published Admission Number (PAN) of 30 for each year group from Reception through to Year 2.

School Places For Reception Intake September 2027

All applications for a school place are made via Surrey County Council. Please note the timelines below:

2 November 2026: Applications open via Surrey County Council.

15 January 2027: Closing date for on-time primary, infant, and junior school applications.

16 April 2027: Primary school offer day (outcome notifications sent).

30 April 2027: Deadline to accept or decline primary school offers.

In-year applications

An in-year application is any application for a school place which falls outside the admissions cycle for each academic year. We have a Published Admissions Number of 30 for each year group.

For 1 September 2026 to 31 August 2027, parents who wish to apply for an in-year place for their child should refer to the Surrey County Council In-Year Admissions Page.

We ask that parents/carers also contact the school office directly to alert the school to the in-year application and to arrange a visit to the school.

We use a supplementary form which applies only to children of staff at Windlesham Village Infant School – this is available to download from the Surrey County Council website.

Applications will be processed within 10 working days of receipt and the school will make every effort to process the application sooner.

Waiting lists

Where there are more applicants than places available, waiting lists will operate for each year group according to the over-subscription criteria for the school without regard to the date the application was received or when a child’s name was added to the waiting list.

Surrey County Council Admissions Department manages the school's waiting list.

Right of appeal

Appeals lodged will be heard within 30 school days. Appellants will be sent notification of their appeal hearing at least 10 clear school days in advance of the hearing. Appellants will be sent a copy of the school's case 7 clear working days in advance of the hearing. Appellants must ensure that any further evidence not included with their initial appeal, is received by 5pm on the day preceding three clear working days prior to the appeal hearing date. Any additional evidence or information received after this date might not be considered at the appeal hearing.

This information will be updated by 31 August each year for the following school year, so for admission in 2025/26, this information must be published by 31 August 2026.
